CENTERSTAGE is my single most favoured movie. I've never seen such fabulous dancing on screen, EVER. The gorgeous feet on pointe, grand jetes and turns are just about enough to bring me to an ecstatic high. Everyone harbours unrealistic dreams, they are, afterall dreams. And this is just mine - to do a perfect grand jete and totter on pointe in those lovely satin shoes. I would kill to dance like that. Fly in the air and gallop on stage.

More than that, life is akin to pointe work. You're balancing on your toes, you're on the verge of falling, but not just yet. Your head is held high, and you know no one is going to catch you when you fall. Point being, life's about risks. We're living on the edge. And it is only ourselves that we can count on. No one else.

This world needs a thorough reality check. Whoever said blogs were private space. It is part of the internet where anything comes our way with just one click. The very information we count on for tabloid gossip or to finish up that gruelling thesis paper. Information better left unknown will also be found; so privacy is better left in the hands of your trustee diary and pen. With actions come consequences, and it will come in due time, good or bad, as long as it has a place in this world wide web. Privacy and the world wide web are just like Jesus and Satan. They will never go hand in hand. (Disclaimer: I'm not trying to be self-righteous or miss prissy here. It's just simple logic and truth that alot of us rather pretend not to know)

It's ridiculous how old high school rivalries and insecurities that have been left untouched for years still plague us; and stings. Let go, let live, move on already. Surely we've out grown all of that; or so I would like to think.

A lazy saturday it was, but that didn't stop me from satisfying my urge to wallop chomp chomp's stingray and carrot cake - with much guilt and great company. Alcohol must definitely accompany every hearty meal. Siva and I headed down to Brewerkz, had a couple of drinks before heading home. Was fun soaking in the atmosphere and just chilling. The humongous tankers of alcohol at Brewerkz were tres cool. : ) If only I could have one of those at home. OH GLORIOUS ALCOHOL!

The Rolling StonERS. We weren't rolling YET, but surely stoned as hell.

On another note. Cheekys has reopened. Last week was the bomb. Aishah, you, me and that ass crack Shalu (if she comes at all) are going to work it yes? So I'm a closet Cheekys fan no more. It's public already. Always been, I was just in denial.

Enough with the action angsty emo punk Shalu. How old are you already. TSKK. But I still love you. :)

TV is the world's number one addiction. Yes. Not the internet, but television. Amazing Race finals was awesome, got me all hyped up about travelling, not that I didn't already have places in mind. I just need dough :). Good things come around. Cheers to the hippies! Champions League finals was... disappointing. Let's just leave that out. Arsenal should've won, but things happen.

It's funny how all that energy is pumped into supporting people in a reality show or sports game where the prize isn't even near your olfactory glands. It's also strange how a drama serial gives you the weirdest fanatical illusions, getting you all roused up more than anything else, apart from that hot dude across the street (if ever you bump into one). There's something on TV every night that lures me home; almost like a kid to candy. Good for the parents, bad for the friends. Sorry guys, but there's more goggle-box action to come with World Cup 2006. Can't wait.

Flu's in and it's pretty damn dreary. Leave is good, but paychecks being docked and not having any energy isn't.

Bruised knees; aching muscles; and hurting joints. Even though I almost couldn't get out of bed this morning, these pains evoked an indescribable sensation. I love dance; it's a three in one concept - combination of body, soul and mind. I want to dance all my life. Freedom expressed, emotions evoked. It's my intangible sanctuary. My mind is left uncluttered, and everything forgotten. Just me, and the enchanting music that plays.

Displaced amongst the crisp black suits;
Suffocated in a corporate gas chamber.
I cast myself away from the glamourous
From this a barbie-like world,
Without any sympathy.

Such obscurity bringsforth magnificent content
I hereby countdown the days of release
Minutes to hours,
Days to months,
Like a jailbird waiting to be freed.

I'm UBER, and I mean FUCKING UBER psyched about FIFA WORLD CUP 2006. I, like many others, fall prey to the retailers' gimmicks, helping them to make a quick buck million out of this sports event. I've been reading up on lineups, tactics, countries and reports. It's like studying all over again, I'm excited already. But of course, what is soccer without the late stayovers at friends', or beers at a pub, or yelling in joy or frustration so loud that even the birds start to tremble. I love soccer. The gorgeous men just happen to be part of the package =)

A quaint street withstands the test of time ,
Not a dollar, a cent or a dime
Could tarnish this magnificent image,
It is free from Modernization's bondage.

Once many homes, with little shops to make ends meet ;
Seeing middle class citizens bustling through the street .

Unique old exteriors polished and maintained,
Untainted facades, that even braved the rain.

A lovely quiet street it is now -
As if awaiting its final bow.

Now please don't ruin this eclectic architecture,
An oasis, a paradise, my overture.

Whilst tenants may have left
And offices take over
It is still that lovely street -
Where soul and body meets

Went with Dell and Rah to watch Death and the Maiden at the DBS Arts Centre on Sunday afternoon. It was highly intriguing and extremely disturbing. The claustrophobic set and the use of just three characters accentuated the tension between all of them. Although the women's rights theme was hard to ignore, I felt there was also the question of truth, and the illusion of it when one is brought to wits' end. The sound, light and placement of characters all came in sync to show power struggle, fear, mistrust, resignation and hope; no matter how little. Brilliant. Can't wait for the Glass Menagerie by Tenesse Williams. =)
